  • Save selection / selected area ?

    Is it possible to save selected areas? I volumill this pocket (see attachment) and then do clean up with two smaller end mills after which all run on same selected area. Kind of annoying to having to select this flats more than ones. In Powermill I would give those flats a color and then I could select by color after, any easy way in Gibbs?

    Shift select I would have to deselect holes after, and sometimes It manages to select a wall even though it's parallel to view, so I found out the best way as of now is to just manually select the flats.
    And then I get a little too imprecise on the mouse cursor and double click the model and throw it in the body bag and start over. Not really a whole lot of work to do it, but it's just tedious when this is something I do as often as I do.

    You can use Feature Manager and then select solid surfaces and Create feature from selected solid/geometry.

      If you want to do the same process in Gibbs:
      1) Select faces you want to assign a color to
      2) RMB "user color of selected"
      3) Assign a color

      To reselect:
      1) Edit-> Select/Deselect
      2) Select color
      3) Click Select

      There are multiple ways to achieve what you are trying to do. I think the above method is what you are after though.
